Nickie's Nippers Pre-School, Crayford
At Nickie's Nippers Pre-School, we have designed and developed a range of programmes to meet the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). We are proud to be able to provide a supportive environment for each and every child, ensuring they receive exactly what they need for their development. Personal, Social & Emotional Development
Personal, social and emotional development (PSED) aims to help and support children. Teaching them how to make friends and get along with others whilst understanding, and teaching them to talk about feelings. It also teaches them about 'right' and 'wrong'. It aims to develop their independence with the overall goal of making them feel good about themselves.
Communication & Language
Communication and language aims to develop children by giving them the opportunity to learn and experience a rich language environment. It helps them to develop their confidence and the skills needed to express themselves, and the skills to listen and speak in a variety of different situations.
Physical development is aimed to provide children with the opportunities to be both active and interactive. To develop co-ordination, movement and control. This also aims to help children understand how important physical activity is, and to open them up to healthy choices in different foods.

Understanding The World
Understanding the world is aimed at giving children the skills needed to make sense of their world and the community. This is achieved by giving them the opportunity to explore, watch and find out about different people, places, technology and the general environment.
Mathematics provides children with the opportunity to develop and improve their skills in understanding and using numbers. This includes counting, calculating simple addition and subtraction, describing shapes, spaces and measurements.
Expressive Arts & Design
Expressive arts and design aims to explore and play with a wide range of media and materials. It provides an opportunity with encouragement for thought sharing, ideas and feelings. All through a wide range of activities such as art, music, dance, role-paly, design and technology.
The development of literacy involves the encouragement of children to ascertain the link between sounds and letters, enabling them to begin reading and writing. To increase their interest, children must be provided with a wide range of reading materials including books, poems, and much more.
